KEBER AND HJALMARSON ARE NEW EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS
Third European Crossminton Championships was played in the Croatian seaside town Porec. During two days, 300 players competed for the medals in 14 categories.
Swedish player Per Hjalmarson demonstrated his dominance on the international level once more. In the final of the Open Division category he defeated his Swedish team mate Mattias Aronsson in three clear sets (16:11, 16:9, 16:11). To complete a perfect tournament, both Swedes also won the Open Doubles category against Slovenian pair Samo Lipušček/Robi Titovšek. A promising young player from Slovenia, Jasmina Keber, won the Women’s Category by defeating Hungarian Agnes Darnyk in the final match (16:11, 16:9, 13:16, 16:13). Keber also won silver in Women’s Doubles after a final match loss against Agnes Darnyik/Krisztina Bognar (HUN) and bronze in Mixed Doubles, where German pair Jennifer Greune/Daniel Gossen became new European Champions.
In junior categories, Zita Ruby (HUN) and Tomaš Pavlovsky (SVK) won in U18 categories, Paula Barković (CRO) and Adam Kakula (SVK) won the U14 categories, while U18 doubles were won by Hungarian pair Oliver Vincze and Bence Palinkas.
In senior categories, Ulrich Burkhardt (SWE) won the O40 category, Vincent Krieger (FRA) O50 category and Edit Osvay (HUN) the female O35 category. Senior O40 Doubles were won by German pair Ulrich Burkhardt/Jürgen Brüchner.
