Nika Miskulin and Borna Petak from Croatia grabbed the titles of the U18 boys and U18 girls category in the 6.ICO Speedminton CCA Geodezija Aleksic Croatian Junior Open 2018 that took place today in Zagreb, Croatia.
27 participants from 2 countries battled for medals in 8 categories.
The Tournament was held in Sport hall “Kajzerica” where a lot of different sports events were played, such as handball, basketball, futsal, different styles of dances etc. The surface of the hall is covered with parquet. On 5 courts, 47 matches were played. In U18 male category Borna Petak showed no mercy in final vs. his friend from CC Zagreb Marko Jerkovic and won in two straight sets (16:8,16:14). In U18 female category the struggle was real for 1st, but also for 3rdplace as well. For first place fought 1stand 2ndseeded players in this category and Nika Miskulin managed to win in 3 sets vs. a strong opponent Gala Zukic (13:16,16:12,16:9). Also important to mention the 2 Slovenian girls Pika Rogelj and Hana Zorec that actually play U14 category, but played this time U18 and made a strong concurrence there and shared the 3rdplace. In U14 female category there was no surprise were the winner was Lana Glavac. U12 boys category managed to win Toma Petak, and U12 girls Eva Senica. The tournament was also held for the youngest of them all where most of them had very first tournament ever and here won one of the twins Cvita Zukic. Doubles went clear. The title for the boys went to the strongest Borna Petak and Marko Jerkovic, and for the girls to Gala Zukic and Nika Miskulin.
