ICO Educational structure
In the past year we have been working to consolidate the ICO educational structure. No major changes have been made, but the structure is now clearer, levels and contents are better defined and we have also added the shortest course – for crossminton animators. Requirements, Contents and Terms of completion for all courses are published on the crossminton.org website.
Here is an overview of the consolidated structure:
Level D: Crossminton Animator
Description: an animator is a person who is allowed to present and demonstrate the sport of crossminton at events, presentations, demonstrations and school lessons. He/she can also help C-, B- and A-Trainers at practice lessons with beginners. An animator is not educated to train children or adults on his own.
During the Crossminton Animator course you will learn the basic crossminton technique and some tactical aspects for beginners. You will also learn the methodological approach – methodological process in theory and praxis, some basic playing exercises for crossminton players and how you can develop crossminton in your own country.
Duration: 1 day (ca. 10 hours)
Level C: C-Trainer
Description: a C-Trainer is a person who is able to do pedagogical work with individuals or groups at the beginning and advanced level. He/she is allowed to train beginners and advanced players (children and adults) on his own in crossminton clubs, sport clubs or other sport organizations, in school or kindergarten programs. A C-Trainer is able to plan and organize a practice lesson and to implement and supervise them. At the same time he/she is able to adapt a practice lesson to the abilities, age, interests and goals of children and adults. He/she is also allowed to present and demonstrate the sport of crossminton at events, presentations, demonstrations and school lessons. During the C-Trainer course you will learn basic and advanced crossminton technique and some tactical aspects for beginners and advanced players, as well as basic doubles tactics. You will also learn the methodological approach – methodological process and the methodological steps in theory and praxis, some basic playing exercises for crossminton players and how you can develop crossminton in your own country. At the same time you will learn the basic common mistakes in crossminton and how to fix them, as well as recommended crossminton footwork.
Duration: 3 days (ca. 25 hours)
Level B: B-Trainer
Description: B-Trainer is a person who is able to do pedagogical work with individuals or groups at competition level. A B-Trainer is a person who is allowed to train beginners, advanced and competition players (children and adults) on his own in crossminton clubs, sport clubs or other sport organizations, in competition programs. He/she is also able to plan and organize a practice lesson, to implement and supervise them. At the same time he/she is able to adapt a practice lesson to the abilities, age, interests and goals of children and adults. He/she is also allowed to present and demonstrate the sport crossminton on events, presentations, demonstrations and school lessons. During the B-trainer course you will learn the crossminton technique for tournament players, the common mistakes made by advanced players and how to fix them, as well as tactical aspects of crossminton for advanced and tournament players in singles and doubles. You will also learn how to plan practice lessons and how to analyse a player during a tournament. At the same time you will learn some basics about the conditions and psychology of a player and some common injuries and first aid.
Duration: 2 days (ca. 20 hours) + C-Trainer license is required among other requirements
Level A: A-Trainer
Description: A-Trainer is a person who is able to do pedagogical work with individuals or groups at the professional level. A-Trainer is a person who is allowed to train beginners, advanced, competition and professional players (children and adults) with big competitions goals on his own in crossminton clubs, sport clubs or other sport organizations, in competition programs. He/she is able to plan and organize a practice lesson, to implement and supervise them. At the same time he/she is also able to adapt a practice lesson to the abilities, age, interests and goals of children and adults. A-Trainer is allowed to present and demonstrate the sport of crossminton on events, presentations, demonstrations and school lessons.
During the A-trainer course additional focus will be given to integral crossminton training, advanced psychological and conditional aspects of crossminton, long-term planning and also nutrition for athletes.
